Google Workspace support for Defend Phishing is still being verified. Microsoft 365 is the connection we have fully tested; see Connect Microsoft 365 to Defend Phishing.
The Google Workspace option on Defend → Sense → Phishing → Mailbox connections depends on an existing Google Workspace log source rather than a Microsoft-style admin-consent round trip.
Prerequisite
A Google Workspace log source must exist first (Settings → Log Sources, domain-wide delegation). Until then the Google Workspace Connect button is disabled and shows "Connect a Google Workspace log source first (Settings → Log Sources)".
Steps
- Confirm a Google Workspace log source exists (Settings → Log Sources).
- Go to Defend → Sense → Phishing.
- On Mailbox connections, select Connect next to Google Workspace.
- Check the status on the same card.
Differences from Microsoft 365
- Google Workspace uses periodic checks, not Microsoft 365-style change notifications.
Disconnect
On Defend → Sense → Phishing → Mailbox connections, select Disconnect next to Google Workspace.
