Overview
The Devices page is the central view for your entire managed fleet. It shows every enrolled device across all clients, along with its current status, and lets technicians quickly locate the device they need to work on.
The Device List
Each row in the device list shows:
- Device name — the hostname as reported by the agent.
- Client — the organization the device belongs to.
- Status badge — Online, Offline, or Alert (see below).
- Operating system — Windows, macOS, or Linux with the OS version.
- Last seen — timestamp of the most recent heartbeat.
- Current user — the user logged in at the time of the last heartbeat.
- Key metrics — a quick glance at CPU, RAM, and disk usage percentages from the last heartbeat.
Status Indicators
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Online (green) | The device sent a heartbeat within the last five minutes. |
| Offline (gray) | No heartbeat received for more than five minutes. The device may be powered off, asleep, or unreachable. |
| Alert (amber or red) | The device is online but has one or more active unacknowledged alerts. |
A device flips from Online to Offline automatically after five minutes without a heartbeat. When it reconnects and sends a new heartbeat, it returns to Online immediately.
Filtering and Searching Devices
Use the filter bar at the top of the device list to narrow results:
- Client — show only devices for a specific client.
- Status — filter to Online, Offline, or Alert.
- Operating system — filter by Windows, macOS, or Linux.
- Device group — show only devices in a particular group.
- Free-text search — type a device name, username, or IP address to find a match instantly.
For more advanced queries, use the natural-language search box. You can type a plain-English question such as "Windows 11 laptops with less than 20% disk free" and the system returns matching devices.
Opening a Device
Click any row to open the device detail page. From there you can view:
- Live and historical metrics (CPU, RAM, disk, network, battery, uptime).
- Installed software.
- Pending and completed patches.
- Recent alerts and timeline.
- Pending and completed script runs.
- Remote terminal and remote session access.
Fleet Health Summary
Above the device list, the Fleet Health panel shows aggregate counts: total devices, how many are online, how many have active alerts, and patch compliance percentages. Use this panel for a quick executive-level read on client health.
Frequently Asked Questions
A device shows Offline but it is clearly running. What should I check?
Verify the RMM agent service is running on the device. Check that outbound port 443 is not blocked. Restart the agent service if needed.
Why does a device show Alert even though the alert was resolved?
The Alert badge clears once all active alerts for the device are acknowledged or resolved. Open the device and resolve any remaining open alerts.
Can I see devices for just one client?
Yes. Either use the Client filter on the main device list, or open the client account page and view devices from there.
