Overview
The Devices page lists everything the site collector has discovered on the network — switches, routers, firewalls, access points, printers, servers, IoT, and any other IP-reachable host. Each device shows its IP, hostname, vendor, MAC, and device class, and is marked Managed (you've claimed and credentialed it) or Unmanaged (just seen on the wire).
Viewing and Filtering Devices
- Open Pulse → Devices.
- The header shows totals: Total, Online, Offline, Managed, Unmanaged.
- Use the search box to find a device by IP, hostname, vendor, or MAC.
- Use Filter by device class to narrow to a type (switch, firewall, printer, etc.).
- Click Refresh devices to pull the latest discovery results.
Managed vs Unmanaged
- Unmanaged devices are discovered automatically and need no action — they're just inventory.
- Promote a device to Managed when you want to actively monitor it or open tunnels to it. Managed devices typically have a credential attached (SNMP community, SSH, etc.) so monitors and tunnels can authenticate.
How To: Monitor a Device
- Open the device from the Devices list.
- Add a monitor (ping, TCP port, HTTP, or SNMP OID) — see "Create a Monitor."
- The device's monitors report Healthy / Failing / Paused and feed your alert rules.
How To: Attach a Credential
Many monitors and all authenticated tunnels need a secret. Add an SNMP community / SSH / API credential on the Credentials page, scoped to the site or this specific device, then reference it from the monitor. Credentials are stored encrypted and never shown back in full.
Troubleshooting
A device I expect isn't listed. Confirm its IP falls inside the site's CIDR ranges and that the collector is Active. Then click Refresh devices — discovery runs on a cycle, not instantly.
A device shows Offline but is actually up. It may be blocking ICMP/SNMP, or the collector can't route to it. Try a TCP-port monitor on a port you know is open instead of a ping monitor.
