Overview
The Security Dashboard gives you a at-a-glance view of your organization's security posture. It pulls together your security awareness training status, dark web monitoring results, and compliance tracking into a single score with actionable details.
Finding the Security Dashboard
Click Security in the sidebar. If you don't see it, your IT provider may have this section disabled for your organization — contact them to ask.
The Security Score
At the top of the Security Dashboard you'll see a score out of 100. The score uses a simple color system:
- Green (71–100) — strong posture; keep it up
- Amber (41–70) — areas need attention
- Red (below 41) — significant gaps; action required
The score is calculated from the sections below. Improving any section improves your overall score.
Security Awareness Training (SAT)
This section shows the security awareness courses assigned to your organization's users and their completion status. Each course entry shows:
- Course name
- Status: Completed, In Progress, Assigned (not started), or Overdue
- Assigned date and due date
Overdue or unstarted training pulls your score down. Completed training boosts it.
Click a course to view details or to launch it if it's in progress or assigned to you. For a more detailed training experience — with XP, levels, streaks, and leaderboards — see the Cypher Training article.
Dark Web Monitoring
Your IT provider monitors data breach databases for your organization's email addresses and credentials. If any of your organization's information appears in a known breach, it will show up here.
Each alert shows:
- The email address or credential type that was found
- Which data breach it appeared in
- The date the breach was discovered
If you see alerts here, contact your IT provider to discuss next steps — typically a password change for the affected account and a review of what data was exposed.
A clean dark web section with no alerts contributes positively to your score.
Compliance Status
If your IT provider is helping your organization meet a regulatory or security framework (such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, or a cybersecurity baseline), this section tracks your progress.
Each framework or requirement shows whether it is:
- Met — requirement is satisfied
- In Progress — work is underway
- Not Met — action is needed
Click through any item for more detail on what's required and what steps are outstanding.
How to Improve Your Score
The most direct ways to improve your security score:
- Complete any overdue or assigned training — open the SAT section and finish your assigned courses
- Act on dark web alerts — change compromised passwords and follow your IT provider's guidance
- Address compliance gaps — work with your IT provider to close out any outstanding compliance items
Your IT provider may also take actions on your behalf (such as deploying security tools or running scans) that improve the score over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
My score dropped since last week. What happened?
A score can drop if training deadlines passed without completion, if new dark web alerts were detected, or if a compliance item moved from "In Progress" to "Not Met." Check each section to find what changed.
What counts as a dark web alert?
A dark web alert means one of your organization's email addresses or associated credentials was found in a publicly known data breach. It doesn't necessarily mean your systems were hacked — but the compromised credential should be changed immediately.
I see a compliance item I don't understand.
Contact your IT provider for an explanation. They set up the compliance tracking and can walk you through what's required.
The Security Dashboard shows information for my whole organization, not just me.
That's correct. The Security Dashboard reflects your organization's overall posture, not just your individual status. Your IT provider uses it to understand where attention is needed.
