Overview
A site is the foundation of everything in Pulse — a physical location with one or more network ranges. You create the site first, then enroll a collector for it, then monitor the devices found inside its ranges. Create a site for each office or branch you want to monitor.
Before You Start
Know the site's network ranges in CIDR form (for example 10.0.0.0/24, 192.168.1.0/24). If you want the site to show up in a client's portal, know which CRM/CMDB client it belongs to.
Steps
- Open Pulse → Sites.
- Click Add Site.
- Enter a name (usually the office or client-location name).
- Enter the CIDR ranges (comma-separated) that define which networks this site covers. The collector only discovers and monitors addresses inside these ranges.
- Optionally set the time zone so schedules and reports read in local time.
- Optionally link the site to a client and tick visible in client portal if you want that client to see it.
- Save. The site appears in the Sites list with its CIDR count and coverage summary.
What Happens Next
The site exists but has no eyes on it yet. The next step is to enroll a collector for the site (see "Enroll a Collector"). Until a collector is Active, Devices, Monitors, Topology, and Speedtests for this site stay empty.
Editing a Site
Open the site and click Edit site to change its name, CIDR ranges, time zone, client link, or portal visibility. Adding a CIDR range widens what the collector discovers on its next sweep.
Troubleshooting
Devices never populate. The most common cause is CIDR ranges that don't match the network the collector actually sits on. Confirm the collector's own IP falls inside (or can route to) the configured ranges.
