Training modules are the individual lessons that make up Cypher's content library. The platform ships with a module library used for micro-training assignments. Admins can view, manage, and regenerate modules. On the Complete tier, you can also create custom modules. This article covers the module library and how to work with it.
The Module Library
To view the module library:
- Go to Micro-Training in the Cypher navigation.
- Click Lessons.
The library lists all available lessons. Each lesson entry shows:
- The lesson title and a short description
- The topic category (phishing, insider threat, dark-web exposure, login anomaly, and similar)
- Whether it is a platform-provided lesson or a custom lesson created for your tenant
How Modules Are Used
Modules in the lesson library are used for micro-training assignments — short, targeted lessons that go out after a specific trigger. They are distinct from the full scenario sessions that drive monthly and annual training. Scenario content for monthly and annual training is generated by THEO from your company profile and framework library; you do not select individual modules for those.
Micro-training modules are assigned:
- Automatically when a phishing simulation click, insider-threat event, dark-web exposure, or login anomaly is detected
- Manually by an admin from a user's profile
AI-Generated Content
Lesson content is generated by THEO using your company profile and threat context. When a module is first created or regenerated, THEO writes the content based on your current industry, role list, and threat profile. This means two companies in different industries will get different lesson content for the same topic.
Regenerating a Lesson
Content can become stale as threats evolve or as your company profile changes. Admins can regenerate any lesson at any time.
- Go to Micro-Training → Lessons.
- Open the lesson you want to update.
- Click Regenerate.
- THEO rewrites the lesson content.
- Review the result and click Publish to make it active.
The previous version is replaced when you publish. If the regenerated content is too similar to the prior version, try updating your company profile's industry tags or role context first, then regenerate again.
Custom Modules (Complete Tier)
On the Complete tier, admins can create new lessons beyond the platform library.
- Go to Micro-Training → Lessons.
- Click New Lesson.
- Enter the title, topic category, and content — or use the Generate option to have THEO draft it from a topic you describe.
- Review and publish.
Custom lessons are scoped to your tenant and are available for assignment alongside the platform-provided library.
Compliance Bundles
Compliance training uses pre-packaged bundles rather than individual modules. Bundles are managed separately under Compliance Training and cover frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, and state privacy laws. See Training Campaigns for how to assign a compliance bundle.
FAQ
Can I delete a platform-provided lesson from my library? Platform-provided lessons cannot be deleted, but they can be replaced by a regenerated version. Custom lessons you created can be deleted.
How do I know which lesson will be auto-assigned after a phishing click? The system selects a lesson based on the trigger type. You can review and change the lesson library to influence which content is in rotation for each trigger type.
How long are micro-training lessons? Lessons are short by design — intended to address a specific gap in a few minutes. They are significantly shorter than the full scenario sessions used for monthly and annual training.
