Overview
The Vendors area of PSA is your vendor master — a record of the suppliers, distributors, and partners you buy from (hardware distributors, software vendors, carriers, subcontractors). Keeping vendor records here means purchase orders, products, and contacts can reference a single source of truth instead of free-text supplier names.
Adding a Vendor
- Go to PSA → Vendors.
- Click New Vendor (or Add Vendor).
- Fill in the vendor details:
- Name (required)
- Category — how you classify the vendor (e.g. Distributor, Software, Carrier)
- Primary contact — name, email, and phone for your rep
- Website
- Address
- Account number — your account/customer number with this vendor
- Status — active/inactive
- Notes / description
- Save. The vendor appears in the list and can be opened for a detail view.
Managing Vendors
From the vendor list you can search vendors and open any one to view or edit its details. Editing updates the same fields you set at creation; you can also delete a vendor you no longer use. The list is paginated for orgs with many vendors.
What Vendors Connects To
Vendor records are the suppliers behind your purchasing: purchase orders and products can be associated with a vendor, and inventory you receive ties back to the vendor it came from. See Inventory for stock and purchasing.
Vendor Risk Assessments and Vendor Contracts
The Vendors area has placeholders for vendor risk assessments and vendor contract tracking. These are not yet built — the screens currently show an empty state. Track your vendor agreements in the vendor notes for now; dedicated risk scoring and vendor-contract management are planned but not available today. (This is separate from client contracts, which are fully supported — see Contracts.)
Troubleshooting
Vendor names show as blank or "Vendor". This was a display bug that has been fixed — vendor names now render correctly in both the list and the detail header. If you still see it, hard-refresh to pick up the latest UI.
I can't find risk scores or vendor contracts. Those are empty-state placeholders today and not yet functional. Use the notes field on the vendor record in the meantime.
