Some products are billed partly on usage — metered consumption above your plan's included units (for example, voice minutes, SMS messages, or AI tokens). The Usage page shows what you have consumed this period and projects where your spend will land by the end of the period.
Who This Is For
MSP Owner and Finance users.
Viewing Usage
- Go to /billing/usage (or click Usage in the billing sidebar).
- The page shows current-period metered usage by product and meter.
- Two summary figures sit at the top:
- Projected End-of-Period — your forecasted total for the period if usage continues at the current rate.
- Spend Forecast — the projected charge that usage will add to your next invoice.
These are projections. Actual charges are finalized when the billing period closes.
How Usage Becomes a Charge
Each metered product has a set of included units in your plan. You are only charged for usage above the included amount. On the invoice, this appears as a "usage charges" line item per meter. Until the period closes, that consumption is reflected in the /billing overview estimate and in the Usage forecast — not yet as a posted charge.
AI Usage
AI consumption (THEO and other AI features) has its own detail page at /billing/ai-usage, and AI subscription settings live at /billing/ai. The Usage page rolls AI into the overall forecast; the AI Usage page breaks it down by feature.
Spend Alerts
To avoid surprises, set a spend alert so you are notified when projected spend crosses a threshold:
- Go to /billing/alerts.
- Click Add Spend Alert.
- Set the threshold amount and who should be notified.
- Save. When the projected period spend crosses the threshold, the platform sends a notification.
Troubleshooting
"My usage forecast jumped." A forecast extrapolates from usage so far in the period. A burst of activity early in the period inflates the projection; it usually settles as the period progresses.
"I see usage but no charge on my invoice." You are likely still within your plan's included units, or the period has not closed yet. Usage only becomes a charge once it exceeds the included amount and the period finalizes.
