The client portal gives your MSP clients a read-only view of their own data — tickets, SLA performance, devices, invoices, and health score — without requiring them to log into your PSA system. You control what each client sees, and clients access the portal using an integration key tied to their account.
This is a transparency tool. Clients can check on their own status instead of emailing your team for updates.
Enabling the Client Portal
- Go to Settings > Client Portal in Clarity.
- Toggle Enabled to on.
- Choose which sections each client can see: Tickets, SLA, Devices, Invoices, and Health Score. Toggle each section independently.
- Save.
The portal is off by default. Enabling it makes the portal endpoint active for all clients whose integration keys are set up.
What Clients See
Depending on which sections you have enabled, a client accessing the portal will see:
- Tickets — their open and recent tickets synced from your PSA
- SLA — their SLA compliance metrics
- Devices — device records associated with their account
- Invoices — their invoice history and outstanding balances
- Health — their client health score (0–100)
Clients only see their own data. The portal uses a header-based integration key to scope every request to a single client.
Accessing the Portal
Each client accesses the portal with three values:
- An Integration Key (X-Integration-Key) — issued per client
- A Tenant ID (X-Tenant-Id) — your organization ID
- A Client ID (X-Client-Id) — the specific client's record ID
These are typically embedded in a link or passed through your client-facing portal UI.
Branding and Customization
The client portal inherits Clarity's data but is rendered through the platform's client portal layer. At the Clarity level, you control which data sections appear. For visual branding (logo, colors), those settings live in HCP branding in the Hub (/settings/client-portal?section=branding). See the HCP (Hub Client Portal) section.
FAQ
Can clients modify anything through the portal? No. The client portal is strictly read-only. Clients cannot create tickets, update records, or make any changes from the portal.
What if I only want some clients to have portal access? Portal access is currently toggled at the org level — on or off for all clients. Individual client access is controlled by whether or not their integration key is distributed.
Why does the portal show nothing for a client? Three common causes: the client portal is not enabled in Settings, the integration key or client ID is incorrect, or no data has synced from the PSA for that client yet. Trigger a manual sync from Connectors and re-check.
