Company sync keeps client/company records in your PSA aligned with company records in the platform. Bridge maps each external company to a platform company, tracks the match confidence, and lets you confirm or correct any mapping before data flows.
How Company Matching Works
When Bridge encounters a company from an external PSA, it looks for a matching company in the platform using several strategies:
- Exact name match — the company name in the PSA matches the platform company name exactly
- Fuzzy match — a normalized name comparison that handles minor spelling differences, punctuation, or abbreviations
- Manual mapping — you explicitly link an external company to a platform company yourself
Each match is stored in the company mappings table with a confidence score. Matches below a threshold, or where Bridge finds more than one possible match, are flagged for manual review before records sync. A mapping marked as ignored tells Bridge to skip that external company entirely.
Setting Up Company Sync
- Open Bridge and go to Sync Profiles.
- Click New Profile and select your PSA connection.
- Under entity types, check Companies.
- Set direction (inbound is most common for company records) and frequency.
- Save and click Trigger to run the first sync.
After the first run, go to Connections > [your connection] > Company Mappings to review how Bridge matched external companies to platform companies. Confirm matches that look correct, correct any that are wrong, and ignore any external companies you don't want to sync.
Reviewing and Confirming Mappings
Bridge presents each external company with:
- The external company name and ID
- The matched platform company name (or "Unmapped" if no match was found)
- The match method (exact name, fuzzy, manual, or AI)
- The confidence score
To manually link an external company to a platform company, click Edit Mapping, select the platform company, and click Confirm. Confirmed mappings are locked and will not be overwritten by automatic re-matching.
What Syncs With Companies
When a company record syncs, Bridge carries over the fields your field mapping includes. Common fields are:
- Company name
- Phone and email
- Address
- Account status or type
- Custom fields (if mapped)
Go to Field Mappings and select your connection and the Companies entity type to configure which PSA fields map to which platform fields.
Outbound Company Sync
If you set direction to Outbound or Bidirectional, Bridge will push new or updated platform company records back to your PSA. This is useful when your MSP creates new clients in the platform and wants them to appear in the PSA automatically.
FAQ
What happens if two PSA companies match the same platform company? Bridge flags this as an ambiguous mapping. You will need to manually confirm which external company maps to the platform company and ignore the other, or create separate platform companies for each.
Can company mappings be shared across multiple PSA connections? Company mappings are per-connection and per-platform. If you have both ConnectWise and Autotask connected, each has its own mapping table. A single platform company can be mapped to an external company in ConnectWise and a different external company in Autotask simultaneously.
Will a company be deleted in the platform if it is deleted in the PSA? Soft deletions (status changes to inactive) will sync if that field is mapped. Hard deletes in the PSA are not automatically reflected in the platform. The mapping record remains; you can manually deactivate the platform company if needed.
