Contact sync brings contact and user records from your PSA into the platform's Hub and CRM modules. Contacts are always linked to a parent company, so company sync should be set up and confirmed before running contact sync for the first time.
Prerequisites
Before syncing contacts:
- You must have an active PSA connection in Bridge.
- Company mappings should be confirmed for the companies whose contacts you want to sync. Contacts attached to unmapped companies will be skipped.
Setting Up Contact Sync
- Open Bridge and go to Sync Profiles.
- Click New Profile and select your PSA connection.
- Under entity types, check Contacts.
- Set sync direction and frequency. Inbound is the typical starting point.
- Save and click Trigger to run an immediate sync.
If you want both companies and contacts to sync together, include both entity types in the same profile. Bridge processes companies before contacts in the same run so that parent records exist before child records are written.
What Syncs
The contact sync brings over the fields included in your field mapping for the Contacts entity type. Standard fields include:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone numbers
- Job title
- Linked company
Additional fields available in your PSA (department, notes, custom fields) can be added through Field Mappings for the Contacts entity type on the connection.
Applying Default Field Mappings
Bridge provides default mapping templates for ConnectWise Manage and Autotask contacts. To apply one:
- Go to Field Mappings.
- Select your connection and the Contacts entity type.
- Click Apply Template and choose your PSA.
Review the applied mappings and adjust any fields that don't match your PSA's field names or your platform naming conventions.
Deduplication
If a contact already exists in the platform — for example, from a previous import — Bridge checks for an existing record with the same external ID before creating a new one. If a match is found, Bridge updates the existing record. If no external ID match exists, Bridge falls back to email address matching to avoid duplicates.
Outbound Contact Sync
Set sync direction to Outbound or Bidirectional if you create contacts in the platform and want them pushed to your PSA. The PSA connection must have write permissions on its API credentials for outbound sync to succeed.
FAQ
A contact synced without a company link — why? The contact's parent company in the PSA is not yet mapped to a platform company. Go to the company mappings for your connection and confirm or create the mapping for that company, then re-run the sync.
Can contacts sync to multiple destinations? Each sync profile runs against one connection. If you have multiple PSAs connected, create a separate profile for each. Contacts from different PSAs will land in the same platform address book, deduplicated by email address.
What if a contact has the same email in two PSAs? Bridge will match both to the same platform contact record via email deduplication and update it on each sync run. The last sync to complete wins for any overlapping fields.
