The ConnectWise Manage connector lets Bridge pull companies, contacts, tickets, and other records from your ConnectWise instance into the platform, keep them in sync on a schedule, and push changes back out. Before records can sync, you must create the connection and confirm it can reach your ConnectWise API.
What You Need Before Starting
You need four pieces of information from ConnectWise Manage:
- Company ID — the short name your firm uses to log in (visible in the ConnectWise URL or login screen)
- Public Key — generated in ConnectWise under System > Members > API Keys
- Private Key — generated alongside the Public Key
- Client ID — a GUID registered at developer.connectwise.com that identifies your integration
The API member used to generate the keys must have the permissions needed to read (and write, if you plan to sync outbound) the entity types you want to sync.
Creating the Connection
- Open Bridge and go to Connections.
- Click New Connection and select ConnectWise Manage from the platform list.
- Enter a name for the connection (for example, "ConnectWise - Production").
- Fill in Company ID, Public Key, Private Key, and Client ID.
- Click Test Connection. Bridge encrypts your credentials and makes a live call to the ConnectWise API. If the test succeeds, the connection status is set to Active. If it fails, the error message is shown on the connection — check credentials and API member permissions, then test again.
- Click Save.
What Can Sync
The ConnectWise connector supports the following entity types:
- Companies — client company records, mapped to the platform's company records
- Contacts — contact records attached to companies
- Tickets (Service Tickets) — service board tickets including status, priority, type, summary, and time entries
- Configurations — configuration/asset records attached to companies
You choose which entity types to include when setting up a sync profile or running a historical import.
Sync Direction and Frequency
After creating the connection, go to Sync Profiles and click New Profile. Pick the ConnectWise connection, select entity types, set direction (inbound, outbound, or bidirectional), and choose a frequency (hourly, daily, weekly, or manual). You can also trigger an immediate sync at any time from the profile detail page.
Handling Conflicts
If the same record is edited in ConnectWise and in the platform between syncs, Bridge records a conflict. Go to Conflicts to resolve each one — keep the local version, keep the ConnectWise version, merge, or skip. You can also write auto-resolve rules to handle common cases automatically.
FAQ
What if my ConnectWise URL is hosted on-premise? The ConnectWise connector calls the standard ConnectWise REST API. If your instance is on-premise, the API must be reachable from the platform's network. Cloud-hosted ConnectWise instances work without any additional configuration.
Can I sync time entries? Time entries are nested under tickets. Select the Tickets entity type in your sync profile to include associated time entries.
My test fails with a 401 — what should I check? The most common cause is a wrong Client ID or mismatched key pair. Confirm the Client ID GUID is registered at developer.connectwise.com and that the Public/Private Key pair belongs to the same API member. Also check that the API member has not been disabled in ConnectWise.
