Overview
Projects is a full project management platform built for MSPs and other service businesses. It gives your team a single place to plan work, assign tasks, track time, manage milestones, and report progress to clients. Projects connects directly to your PSA so that contracts, tickets, and billing stay in sync without manual work.
Projects is used by project managers, technicians, and account managers — and optionally by clients through a dedicated client portal.
What Projects Does
Projects organizes work at several levels:
- Projects — the top-level container. Each project has a name, client, start and end date, budget, and a health score that updates automatically.
- Tasks and subtasks — the individual units of work. Tasks have assignees, due dates, priorities, custom fields, and activity logs.
- Milestones — key checkpoints inside a project. Milestones have owners, check-ins, and an approval step.
- Time entries — hours logged against tasks. Time can be marked billable or non-billable and flows to PSA for invoicing.
- Sprints — optional agile containers for teams that work in iterations.
Industry Engines
When you create a project you choose an engine. The engine changes the terminology, workflow stages, and default templates to match your business type. Available engines: MSP, Construction, Agency, Software, Church, Association, Legal, Accounting, and General.
Engine choice is per project. You can run different engines for different clients if your team does more than one type of work.
Relationship to PSA
Projects integrates bi-directionally with PSA:
- Contracts and companies from PSA are available inside Projects so you can link a project to a billing agreement.
- Tickets from PSA can be linked to individual tasks.
- Time entries marked billable in Projects flow to PSA for invoicing.
- The PSA command center shows a project health summary pulled live from Projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need PSA to use Projects?
No. PSA integration is optional. Projects works standalone and you can link to PSA later.
What is the client portal?
A separate branded interface where your clients can log in to see project status, comment on tasks, and approve work. Clients never see your internal financials, cost rates, or time entries.
Can I have more than one engine active at the same time?
Yes. Engine is set per project, not per account. A Starter plan supports one engine type; Professional supports three; Enterprise supports all.
