This is the shortest path from a new account to a working MSP workspace: you're signed in, your team is invited, your first client exists, and one real device is reporting in. Set aside about 30 minutes. Everything happens in the Hub at app.theonestack.com.
Who does this: the Owner, or an Admin. Inviting teammates and installing agents need one of those roles. See User roles.

1. Sign in (2 minutes)
- Go to app.theonestack.com.
- Sign in with your work email and password, or click Continue with Microsoft to use your Microsoft 365 account. See Microsoft SSO.
- On your first sign-in, the Hub opens the guided onboarding wizard at /settings/get-started. (If setup is already finished,
/onboardingsends you to Apps — use Get started instead.). It saves your progress, so you can leave and come back to it at any time.
Forgot your password? Click Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. The reset link is good for 1 hour. See Password reset.
2. Fill in your company profile (5 minutes)
In the wizard, complete Welcome (your team size and the kind of MSP you run) and Company Profile: legal name, primary contact, contact email, mobile number, and country. These details show up on invoices, in HCP (your client portal), and in notifications, so get them right first.
You can change them later in Settings → Organization. See Organization settings.
You don't have to finish the wizard in one sitting. For this checklist, fill in the profile and then move on. You can come back to the other wizard steps later at /settings/get-started. For the full list of wizard steps, see Set up your MSP with the onboarding wizard.
3. Invite your team (5 minutes)
- Go to Settings → Users.
- Click Invite user.
- Enter the person's email address and display name.
- Pick their role: Owner, Admin, Finance, Member, or Viewer. Most technicians should be Member.
- Optionally, choose which products they can open from the start.
- Click Send Invite.
Invites are good for 7 days. Until someone accepts, their status reads Invited. To send a fresh link, open the … menu on their row and choose Resend invite. See Inviting users.
4. Add your first client (5 minutes)
Client companies live in CRM. Every deal, contact, quote, and activity ties back to a company.
- Go to CRM → Companies.
- Click New Company.
- Enter the company Name. It's the only required field.
- Set Type to Client. New companies start as Prospect.
- Add the Domain if you know it. Email sync uses it to match incoming mail to this client.
- Click Save.
See Adding companies for every field.
5. Install your first agent (10 minutes)
One agent covers RMM, plus Defend and CMDB if your organization has them. Your license decides which products the agent turns on, so you don't choose products during install.
- Go to Endpoints → Install.
- Click Generate Installer Token.
- Pick the customer the device belongs to.
- Leave Max uses and Expires blank to use the defaults: 25 installs or 30 days, whichever comes first.
- Click Generate Token, then copy the token right away. It's shown only once.
- Choose the device's operating system. Then copy the install command, or download the package: .msi for Windows, .pkg for macOS, or .deb/.rpm for Linux.
- Run the command on the device as an administrator. The device needs outbound internet access on port 443.
For silent installs, Chromebooks, and troubleshooting, see Install the RMM agent on a device.
6. Confirm the device checked in (2 minutes)
About a minute after install, the device should show up in Endpoints → Devices and in RMM. If it doesn't, check that the install command ran as an administrator and that the device can reach the internet on port 443.
You're set up. What's next?
- Use Get Started in the Hub sidebar to work through the rest of your setup.
- See every app in one place: PSA, CRM, RMM, CMDB, Defend, Shield, Cypher, CyberAssure, Edge, Voice, Clarity, THEO, Bridge, HCP, and more. Find anything in the Hub: app and settings map links each app and its guide.
- Set up your service desk in the PSA user guide.
- Brand HCP (Hub Client Portal), the portal your clients sign in to, at Settings → Client Portal → Branding. See White-labeling the client portal and the HCP section.
