Overview
Microsoft SSO lets you sign in to the Hub using your Microsoft 365 account instead of a separate password. It is available to all users whose organization uses M365.
Signing In with Microsoft
- Go to app.theonestack.com.
- Click Continue with Microsoft.
- You are redirected to the Microsoft sign-in page. Enter your M365 email and password (or approve the push notification if your organization uses the Microsoft Authenticator app).
- On your first sign-in with Microsoft, you may see a consent screen asking permission to share your name and email with The One Stack. Click Accept.
- You are returned to the Hub and signed in.
If your Microsoft account matches an existing Hub account (same email address), the two are linked automatically on the first Microsoft sign-in. You can still sign in with your Hub password at any time — both methods work in parallel.
First-Time Account Linking
When you sign in with Microsoft for the first time:
- If the Hub finds a Hub account with the same email, it links your Microsoft identity to that account. No new account is created.
- If no matching account exists, a new Hub account is created using your name and email from Microsoft.
After linking, your Microsoft identity appears under Settings → Account → Connected Accounts. You can disconnect it there at any time, as long as you have at least one other working sign-in method (password or passkey).
What Happens if Microsoft Login Fails
If the Microsoft sign-in step fails or is cancelled, you are returned to the Hub sign-in page with an error message. Common reasons:
- You cancelled the Microsoft consent or login prompt.
- Your M365 account does not have permission to sign in (blocked by your IT admin in Microsoft's Conditional Access policies).
- Microsoft's service is temporarily unavailable.
In any of these cases, sign in with your Hub email and password instead. Once signed in, you can investigate the Microsoft account issue under Settings → Account → Connected Accounts.
If the Continue with Microsoft button does not appear at all on the sign-in page, Microsoft SSO has not been enabled for your region. Contact support if you believe it should be available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does linking Microsoft SSO change my Hub password?
No. Your Hub password is not affected. Linking Microsoft just adds it as an additional way to sign in.
Can I disconnect my Microsoft account?
Yes, go to Settings → Account → Connected Accounts and click Disconnect next to Microsoft. This is only allowed if you have another way to sign in (a Hub password or a passkey).
My Microsoft account email is different from my Hub account email. What happens?
The Hub matches accounts by email. If the emails differ, a new Hub account will be created instead of linking. Contact your admin to resolve the account mismatch.
I get a login loop between the Hub and Microsoft — it keeps bouncing me back and forth.
