Overview
Managed clients are the companies your MSP supports. Each client gets their own isolated workspace in the Hub and can be given access to a white-labeled client portal. This article covers how to add a client company at launch.
Adding a Client
- Go to CRM → Companies (
/crm/crm/companies). - Click New Company (or open
/crm/crm/companies?new=1to jump straight to the dialog). - Fill in the company details. Leave Type set to Client (the default).
- Save to create the client company.
For more detail, see Adding companies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a client manage their own users in the portal?
Yes, if you give them a portal user with the client_admin role. Client admins can invite and deactivate other portal users for their own organization. The level of self-service is controlled by the roles you assign.
What is the difference between a managed client and a regular Hub user?
A managed client is a separate company record that your MSP manages. Managed clients have their own isolated portal at a separate URL. Regular Hub users are members of your MSP's own organization.
How many clients can I add?
There is no hard limit on the number of managed clients. Pricing for client-assigned products follows your reseller agreement.
Can I set up a custom domain for a client's portal?
Yes. Per-client portal branding and custom domains are configured under Settings → Client Portal → Branding & Identity (/settings/client-portal?section=branding). Org-wide branding is under Settings → Organization → Branding (/settings/organization#branding). The old /settings/branding link redirects to Settings → Organization. Once a domain is verified, client invite emails and login pages automatically use that domain for the relevant client.
A client's product shows "Provisioning — Pending." What does that mean?
The product is in the process of being set up in the backend. Most products provision within a minute. If it stays pending for more than a few minutes, check the client's product detail page for an error message or contact support.
